Rao Munukutla is an internationally respected infrastructure strategist and urban development leader with over three decades of experience in planning and delivering transformative city-scale developments across Asia and Australia. As Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), he is spearheading the development of Bengaluru Airport City—an ambitious mixed-use urban district envisioned as a global testbed for smart, sustainable and innovation-driven urban development.

Throughout his distinguished career, Rao has led the delivery of several landmark infrastructure, township and economic development projects, including the Bintan Beach International Resort in Indonesia, MUSE Special Economic Zone in Myanmar, Springfield City in Australia, ITPL Bengaluru, Sri City, Mahindra World City and the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor. Under his leadership, BACL’s sustainability-led planning framework has earned the prestigious IGBC Green Cities Platinum Certification, reflecting a strong commitment to environmentally responsible and future-ready urban development.

Dr. Chandrashekar Hariharan

Ecological Economist | Sustainability Strategist

Dr. Chandrashekar Hariharan is one of India’s pioneering sustainability thinkers whose work over the past four decades has significantly influenced the country’s green building movement, ecological economics and resource-efficient urban development. An ecological economist by training, he has dedicated his career to integrating water, energy, biodiversity and climate resilience into the planning and stewardship of the built environment.

A Founder Member of the CII–Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) National Executive Committee and Senior Fellow of IGBC, Dr. Hariharan has played a pioneering role in advancing green buildings, Net Zero development and sustainable urban practices across India. Through initiatives such as BCIL, AltTech Foundation and the citizen-led WOW (Water Optimisation for the World) Action Forum, he has championed practical solutions for water conservation, energy efficiency and community-led environmental stewardship. His work continues to inspire industries, institutions and citizens to adopt more resilient and regenerative approaches to development.

A widely respected mentor, author and policy advisor, Dr. Hariharan actively guides industry, academia and civic organisations in accelerating the transition towards resource-efficient and climate-resilient cities.

At UrbanSkape Confluence 2026, Dr. Hariharan will deliver the keynote address, “Green Urbanism in Action: How IGBC is Shaping India’s Sustainable Built Environment,” exploring how transitioning facilities and cities to net-zero requires balancing water and energy efficiency, renewable generation, and smart technology to drastically cut greenhouse gas emissions. He will also share about the need of integrated planning across built environment, water and energy grids, while improving urban life.

Arundhati Nag

Actor | Theatre Visionary | Founder Trustee, Sanket Trust | Creator of Ranga Shankara

Padma Shri Arundhati Nag is one of India’s most celebrated theatre personalities whose enduring contribution extends far beyond the performing arts into the cultural life of Bengaluru. An acclaimed actor of stage, cinema and television, she has devoted over four decades to nurturing Indian theatre while inspiring generations of artists through her unwavering commitment to artistic excellence. She is the recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, the Padma Shri, and the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, among numerous other honours.

Inspired by the vision of her late husband, Shankar Nag, Arundhati transformed a cherished dream into reality through the creation of Ranga Shankara—one of India’s most respected theatre spaces and a cultural landmark that has redefined Bengaluru’s performing arts landscape. Designed by architect Sharukh Mistry and operated by the Sanket Trust, Ranga Shankara’s enduring philosophy of “A Play a Day” has made it a vibrant civic institution where artists, audiences and communities come together through creativity, dialogue and shared cultural experiences.

Widely regarded as an institution builder, mentor and cultural leader, Arundhati continues to champion theatre as an essential public space that enriches civic life and strengthens the cultural fabric of cities.

At UrbanSkape Confluence 2026, Arundhati Nag will share about, “The Making of Ranga Shankara: Creating a Cultural Soul Space for the City,” reflecting on the journey of transforming a visionary idea into one of India’s finest examples of cultural infrastructure, and exploring how architecture, culture and community together contribute to the broader vision of Green Urbanism by creating cities that are not only sustainable, but also creative, inclusive and deeply humane.

Ar. V. Vishwanath

Chairman, Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), Bangalore Chapter Founder & Principal Architect, YV Architects

Ar. V. Vishwanath is an architect, interior designer and design leader whose work over the past two decades has consistently explored the relationship between architecture, interiors, climate responsiveness and the human experience. As Chairman of the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), Bangalore Chapter , he is committed to advancing professional excellence, design innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration within India’s interior design community.

As Founder and Principal Architect of YV Architects, established in 1998, he has led the design of award-winning institutional, educational, transportation, healthcare and public projects across India. His work, including the acclaimed restoration of the IIM Bangalore Library, has received national and international recognition for design excellence, while reflecting a philosophy of creating climate-responsive, people-centric spaces that are accessible to society at large.

Beyond professional practice, Vishwanath has contributed extensively to architectural education and public service through leadership roles on academic boards, institutional governing bodies and community initiatives focused on social infrastructure, senior living and public spaces.

At UrbanSkape Confluence 2026, Ar. Vishwanath will present Green Urbanism Through Architecture & Interior Design,” sharing how architecture and interior design together can create healthier, more sustainable and people-centric environments. He will also highlight IIID Bangalore Chapter’s vision and initiatives under his stewardship in advancing design excellence and promoting sustainable practices within the profession.

Mohan Rao

Founder & Principal Designer, INDÉ – Integrated Design

R. Mohan Rao is one of India’s leading landscape architects and environmental designers whose work over the past three decades has redefined the relationship between landscape, ecology, water systems and the built environment. As Founder and Principal Designer of INDÉ (Integrated Design), he has led multidisciplinary projects spanning landscape architecture, environmental design, regional planning and landscape conservation across diverse geographies.

Mohan’s work is distinguished by its integration of ecological science, traditional knowledge systems and contemporary design practice. Drawing upon decades of engagement with indigenous communities and historic landscapes, he advocates development models that are environmentally regenerative, culturally rooted and resilient to the challenges of climate change. Widely recognised as a pioneer in sustainable water management and landscape conservation, his practice demonstrates how nature-based solutions can inform the planning and stewardship of future cities.

A respected speaker, researcher and educator, Mohan actively contributes to professional and academic discourse on ecology, sustainability, biodiversity, water systems and human settlements, expanding the role of landscape architecture in shaping more resilient communities.

Prof. Dr. K. S. Anantha Krishna

Architect | Academic Visionary | Institution Builder

Prof. Dr. K. S. Anantha Krishna is one of India’s most respected architectural educators whose distinguished career spanning over four decades has profoundly shaped architectural education, research and academic leadership across the country. An architect, educator and institution builder, he has mentored generations of students, faculty members and academic institutions while playing a pivotal role in advancing architectural pedagogy and research in India.

A graduate of UVCE, Bangalore University, with a Master’s degree from the School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai, and a Fellowship in Human Settlements and Environmental Studies from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Dr. Krishna has held leadership positions at several of India’s premier architecture schools, including the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, MIT Manipal, RV College of Engineering, CMR University and NITTE School of Architecture, Planning & Design. As Chairman of the Board of Studies in Architecture at Visvesvaraya Technological University for a record fifteen years, he helped shape the academic framework for architectural education across Karnataka, while his pioneering work in faculty development and doctoral research has influenced institutions nationwide.

Recipient of the IIA Highest Architect Teacher Award, the Madhav Achwal Gold Medal, and an Honorary Doctorate from Bengaluru North University, Dr. Krishna continues to inspire the profession through his unwavering commitment to academic excellence, research and lifelong learning.

Austin Roach is one of Karnataka’s leading real estate entrepreneurs whose work over the past three decades has contributed significantly to the evolution of integrated communities and sustainable urban development. As President of CREDAI Karnataka and Chairman & Managing Director of the RBD Group, he has led landmark developments spanning residential townships, hospitality, commercial campuses, life sciences parks, golfscapes and mixed-use destinations that have helped shape Bengaluru’s expanding urban landscape.

Beginning with the pioneering gated communities of Ferns Builders & Developers, Austin has consistently championed developments that integrate quality infrastructure, environmental stewardship and community-centric planning. His portfolio includes award-winning residential projects, LEED and IGBC-certified developments, premium hospitality destinations, Grade-A commercial campuses and India’s emerging life sciences research districts, reflecting a commitment to creating sustainable environments where people can live, work, learn and thrive.

Beyond business, Austin is widely respected for his leadership within the real estate industry and his advocacy for responsible development through CREDAI Karnataka, promoting collaboration between government, industry and professionals to build more resilient and future-ready cities.

Venkataraman K.

Mechanical Engineer | Sustainability Practitioner | Author | Founder, eVikas Terrace Forest

Venkataraman K. is a mechanical engineer, management professional, author and sustainability practitioner whose work bridges engineering, urban ecology and community-led environmental action. A university topper in Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate from IIM Mumbai (formerly NITIE), he has held leadership positions with BEL, CEAT, MICO (Bosch) and Godrej before founding Business Solutions International (BSI), through which he has supported engineering and aerospace programmes across India for over three decades.

His pioneering eVikas Terrace Forest in Bengaluru has emerged as a living laboratory for sustainable urban greening. Developed on a 600 sq. ft. rooftop, the project demonstrates how underutilized urban spaces can be transformed into thriving ecosystems through lightweight engineering, water management, biodiversity enhancement, composting and sustainable food production. Conceived as a practical and replicable model, it illustrates how nature-based interventions can contribute to cooler, greener and more climate-resilient cities.

An internationally published author of Think Without Ink and Founder of E80 SPARK, Venkataraman actively mentors professionals and communities on sustainability, innovation and lifelong learning.

At UrbanSkape Confluence 2026, Venkataraman will present practical insights into how terrace forests and nature-based solutions can advance the principles of Green Urbanism by transforming rooftops into productive urban ecosystems that enhance biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience and improve the quality of urban life. He will also lead a hands-on masterclass, “Engineering Urban Terrace Forests: Best Practice Sharing,” demonstrating practical techniques and replicable strategies for integrating green infrastructure into the built environment.

Yash M Khakhar

Manager – Campus France Karnataka | French Higher Education Specialist

Yash Manoj Khakhar is the Manager of Campus France Karnataka, the official French government agency for the promotion of higher education in France, operating under Institut français India and the Embassy of France in India. Based in Bengaluru, he plays a pivotal role in strengthening Indo-French academic collaboration by connecting Indian students, universities and institutions with France’s globally renowned higher education ecosystem.

Over the past five years, Yash has worked closely with French universities, Indian academic institutions, Alliance Française centres and key education partners to promote international academic mobility and higher education opportunities. He has successfully led statewide student outreach initiatives, organised flagship education programmes and recruitment events for the Embassy of France in India, facilitated institutional partnerships, conducted pre-departure orientations and personally guided thousands of Indian students pursuing higher education in France.

Passionate about expanding global learning opportunities for young professionals, Yash actively promotes interdisciplinary education, international research collaborations and cross-cultural exchange, helping students navigate academic pathways that prepare them for careers in an increasingly interconnected world.
